PRESS RELEASE: Ciccio’s Olives Recognized at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition
Ciccio’s Olives Recognized as Top Olive Oil at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition
New York, NY, April 12, 2022 — Ciccio’s Olives Extra Virgin Olive Oil received the silver award and was recognized today among the world’s top olive oils at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition. The annual New York international olive oil competition is the world’s largest and most prestigious olive oil quality contest, and its annual list of award winners is the authoritative guide to the world’s best olive oils and the dedicated producers who craft them.
The Ciccio’s Olives monovarietal, single estate, unfiltered, extra virgin olive oil is produced by Fratelli Pugliano in Calabria, Italy, and imported by Ciccio’s Olives in Pennsylvania, USA. The Pugliano family has dedicated itself to carefully cultivating and producing olive oil for generations, and their commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming methods is apparent in the quality of their olive oil.
It’s incredibly hard to produce an exceptional olive oil, especially as a small family company, and Fratelli Pugliano and Ciccio’s Olives has done just that. Add skyrocketing raw material prices and dramatic supply chain issues into the mix, and achieving worldwide recognition becomes even more difficult.
“We were always proud of the olive oil we produced, but being recognized among the world’s best is so humbling. My father, Ciccio, began this legacy as a farmer, husband, and father providing for his family during difficult times in Southern Italy. Receiving this award makes not only our family and team, but entire community honored and proud,” remarked Antonio Pugliano, owner of Fratelli Pugliano.

“Ciccio’s Olives is not just a product. It’s a dream for a small family of farmers to achieve success in producing, bottling, and exporting a pure, authentic, unadulterated extra virgin olive oil. Once we recognized that we had all the right pieces in place to share this liquid gold with the US market, we felt it our responsibility to do so,” comments Laura Pugliano, co-owner of Ciccio’s Olives. “Achieving the silver award at the 2022 NYIOOC solidifies our commitment to educate consumers and foster farm-to-table traceability with a product that can improve health and wellness for all.”
